We're thrilled to announce our latest investment in Kin Insurance's Series E alongside Activate Capital and QED Investors!
The U.S. homeowners insurance market has been under intense strain, especially in states vulnerable to natural disasters. Many traditional insurers have responded by raising premiums sharply, pulling back from high-risk regions, or exiting markets altogether, leaving millions of homeowners with few, if any, affordable coverage options.
Kin Insurance is a direct-to-consumer home insurance company that uses technology and data analytics to offer customizable, competitively priced coverage in catastrophe-prone areas often underserved by traditional insurers. The company simplifies the buying process, offering transparent pricing, and using real-time property data to underwrite risks more accurately.

Kin, the digital home insurance provider, expanded its coverage to include Missouri, making it the 13th state in its roster. "Missouri's weather doesn't follow a one-size-fits-all pattern, and neither should its home insurance," said Sean Harper, CEO and Founder of Kin. "Kin analyzes thousands of property-specific data points to understand exactly how resilient each Missouri resident’s home is to the extreme weather patterns facing Missourians. This precision allows us to offer accurate pricing that reflects actual risk, not broad assumptions."
